There are so many things that I adore about my job but perhaps the most important of all is the fact that it allows me to connect with couples from all around the world, to provide them with a service that is professional, personal and brimming with as much love and support as I can give. However, as well as connecting with the most beautiful people, I’m so very grateful that it also feeds a very personal passion for travel, allowing me the chance to discover places that I might not have ever discovered.
It was with this in mind that I’ve decided to share one such discovered gem on a recent trip to Ireland. Bellinter House is an 18th century country house hotel and wedding venue just outside Dublin. Designed by the renowned architect Richard Cassels, it sits on the banks of the River Boyne in County Meath. Winner of ‘2015 Exclusive Venue’ Wedding Award, it is situated just 35 minutes from Dublin Airport.
On their website, the house promises ‘ceiling to floor casement windows, well worn floorboards, grand old fireplaces, retro lighting, vintage furniture, inspired art, atmosphere and ambiance’ but I’m going to be honest, I was expecting another rather stuffy, prim and proper country house. What an enormous shock to then discover an altogether alternative, rather funky hideaway! The house retains it’s ‘grand’ house status from the outside but inside it is a wealth of retro charm and iconic designer heaven.
