The past 6 years have been a truly fabulous whirlwind of beautiful vows, stunning locations and lots and lots of love. I spend a huge amount of time getting to know each couple and so over the years social media has sometimes taken a back seat, with so many gorgeous weddings sitting patiently on my hard-drive waiting to be shared with the world. Today, I am finally releasing the wonderful wedding of Angela and Andrew from my archives, as it is just too pretty not to be seen.
Angela and Andrew chose to get married at the church of St Giles and St Nicholas in Sidmouth followed by a wedding reception at The Deer Park Country House Hotel in Honiton. When the ceremony and reception take place in separate locations, I always suggest making use of the time the wedding guests spend travelling between venues, as its often a great opportunity to take some bride and groom portraits. This time though, Angela had something very specific in mind. Connaught Gardens is a mini botanical paradise nestled gently on the East Devon Coastline. As a small child Angela would visit the 70 year old gardens and dream of coming here with her new husband on their wedding day. Those kind of dreams simply need to be fulfilled! I always recommend that a couple take some time away from their guests during the wedding day so that they can enjoy a few quiet moments together. For Angela and Andrew their trip to Connaught Gardens became one of the highlights of their day as Angela explains, “It happened to be one of mine and Andy’s favourite parts of the day (after the ceremony!) We had such a nice time, it was so relaxed and lots of fun.”
They chose to have a nautical theme running through the day with dark navy blue and touches of soft peach, which beautifully complimented Andrew’s Scottish kilt colours. The beach wedding cake followed the nautical theme, a lovely alternative to the traditional wedding cake and a fabulous reflection of their fun side!
To Mr & Mrs S: Thank you so much for welcoming me in to your special day and I really do feel so honoured to have spent the time with you both walking through Connaught Gardens. You are such a gorgeously fab, relaxed and fun couple and an absolute pleasure to photograph (…and I can’t wait for little H cuddles!) Much love to you both, N x
