There are some weddings that simply take your breath away….and this was undoubtedly one of them! Set at Lyveden New Bield, one of the most eerily magical and unique historic venues that I have ever been to, the building provides a rich and unusual backdrop to this stunning wedding.

Harriet & Rich decided that they wanted their wedding to be a true reflection of them as a couple and so personally designed so many aspects of their wedding day, from the stationary to making the actual bar!
‘Rich and I decided from the start that we wanted a relaxed feel to the wedding. We really wanted as many personal touches as we could to make things more meaningful.’
With soft pink roses and delicate gypsophila, the flowers were simple and beautifully designed by The Flower House Stamford

My absolute favourite, Jimmy Choo, also made an appearance!

Harriet chose to do her own make-up and had a friend to do her hair on the wedding morning.

As many of you know, one of my favourite wedding dress designers is the fabulous London based designer Naomi Neoh. This dress is ‘Fleur’ with a ‘Primrose Boat-neck’ French lace jacket.

The soft light grey bridesmaids dresses were designed by Two Birds and added an elegant simplicity to the colour scheme.

The Bride and Groom provided their guests with dried rose petals as confetti, wrapped in single rolled pages from an antique book on British birds. Harriet explains:
‘We wanted to have homemade confetti and lots of friends and family helped out by raiding their gardens and rose bushes and making some for us. Rich especially is really interested in birds and him and my dad often go bird watching together. So when we stumbled across a really old vintage bird book in a second hand book shop we thought it would be a nice idea to make confetti cones from the pages of this!’

Lyveden New Bield itself remains unfinished but the building is steeped in so much history & the stone work hides many secrets…..in fact it’s owner was imprisoned in the Tower of London for them!

All the favours were lovingly prepared by the bride and groom:
‘Our favours are my favourite DIY project. Rich and I grew/went foraging for fruit from every season in the year leading up to our wedding and used this to make our own wedding liqueurs.’

The amazing cake was a four-tier creation by the Bride’s Godmother!

……..and who says The Formals have to be entirely ‘sensible’ anyway??

The fabulous vintage Red Bus was hired from Carter’s Travel

Harriet & Rich wanted to keep the food simple and as locally sourced as possible, so Beetroot Caterers provided the most AMAZING food (I know, I had it! )

The band, Kolo, didn’t leave a single person sitting on their seats from the moment they started!!! Outrageously good fun!
