The photography world is just packed to the brim with terms that describe and define styles of wedding photography. With categories such as Reportage, Photojournalism, Fine Art, Editorial, Creative and so many more, it can feel a tad confusing when you start looking for your wedding photographer. Nope...I'm not going to define them all! I just don't think it's necessary to … [Read more...]
Ruth & James
As 2014 draws to a close, I've been looking back over some of the beautiful weddings that I have had the pleasure of photographing. It's been such an amazing, inspiring and love-filled year but it's also kept me super busy and so a number of weddings never reached my blog. James and Ruth's elegant wedding at Huntsham Court was one such wedding and so before we toast to 2015, I … [Read more...]
Coral Flowers, Lime Dresses and a Sea View: Berry Head Hotel Wedding
I love it when a Bride and Groom really put their own individual stamp on their wedding day.....and Rachel and Luke certainly did that. They used the most fantastic mixture of colours to make their wedding bold and glamorous. With bright coral flowers in the bridesmaids hair there was a definite hint of Hawaii....which certainly bought a bit of sunshine to what was a very rainy … [Read more...]
Heather & Kevin’s 1950’s inspired wedding
There are some weddings that make me smile from ear to ear. There are some that are so brilliantly unique and clever and simply cool that by sheer association I gain a little 'awesome.' There are some that simply make me want to get a tattoo. This wedding did all 3. The first time I met Heather was with her mum. We had coffee and cake....followed by more coffee and possibly … [Read more...]
A Fort, a Cornish Beach and a Wedding with a view: Michelle & Kyle
It was a wedding brimming with personal touches: from the giant slabs of wood that had been cut and carefully carved as centrepieces and signing boards to the small bottles of Lemoncello made lovingly as favours. Michelle and Kyle filled every part of their wedding day with things that were personal, made with love and that reflected them as a couple. I LOVE that!!! I also … [Read more...]
A wedding full of sun, sporrans and a dash of taxidermy
Just the mere mention of an outdoors wedding and my heart skips a little and swiftly breaks into a rather jazzy rendition of 'Somewhere over the Rainbow.' Luckily it's a fairly quiet rendition. Maybe in the UK we rarely believe the weather will be that kind to us....but my dear readers, just occasionally the sun shines on the brave. Frances and Frazer travelled down from … [Read more...]
A Waterfall Wedding
She uttered the words "vintage flower fairy theme" followed shortly by "waterfall" and any sense of my own professionalism flew quickly out of the window. The wedding was to be on a Sunday in May at Kenton Church followed by a reception next to one of the highest waterfalls in England, Canonteign Falls. Im not going to lie....I begged her to hire me! Literally! Begged. I think … [Read more...]
Nicola & Ashley
Hopefully this beautiful wedding will dust away those rainy cobwebs and add a little bit of inspiration to your day. Nicola and Ashley married back in the summer at a small ceremony at St Peters Church in Lewdown followed by a gorgeous reception at one of my favourite venues in Devon, The Horn Of Plenty near Tavistock. Yes...two pairs of shoes! The stunning flowers were by … [Read more...]
Jennifer & Richard – The Great Barn
On October 27th 2013 a horrible storm was predicted to hit the United Kingdom. Flood warnings and severe weather warnings were in place throughout the country, panic buying went in to full swing and we all battened down the hatches expecting a repetition of the great storm of 1987. Now if that day happens to be the day of your wedding, how would you be feeling? I expect most … [Read more...]
