It was just below freezing when I walked out this morning. Now I love a clear, frosty day but all this rain has made me pine for warmer, sunnier times. I’ve started to crave the soft, hazy glow of a late summers afternoon with the sweet smell of honeysuckle in the air and ripe fruit hanging from the trees. So in an attempt to warm us all up, I’m re-visiting one of my favourite venues in the South-west; River Cottage HQ. You will probably remember Alex and James humanist wedding from one of my earlier blog posts, but I thought I would show you a bit more from this beautiful, fabulously organic venue.
River Cottage is undoubtedly one of the most unique wedding venues in the UK. Propelled into the spotlight in 1998 by Chef Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall TV series, it is now home to an award winning Cookery School and renowned Chef School. It is also now licensed for legal wedding ceremonies! Woohoo!
The surrounding countryside is not just stunning but everything about River Cottage’s ethos is based on sustainability and minimal environmental impact which filters through every aspect of running this organic farm and business. Plus, if you are a foodie like me, then I promise you that wedding breakfast’s just don’t come more delicious than here….and believe me, I’ve sampled a few over the years!
