From the moment they set eyes on one another, they just clicked and have been pretty much inseparable ever since. Becky & Ian met on a night out in their home town. Ian had an interesting nickname, spud, and Becky had heard a lot about him…
Fast forward 8 years and during a holiday to Cyprus, Ian took Becky for a romantic stroll along the coastline. They stopped at a little playground and Ian pushed Becky on one of the swings. She almost fell off when she glanced around to see Ian down on one knee, ready to propose!
In Becky’s words: “We aren’t really a couple for traditions but he told me he had asked my father for his blessing. This meant the world to me as sadly my father passed away many years before I even met Ian, so to think that he’d gone to see my dad and ask for his blessing made me realize the man I was going to marry was a keeper…and I know my dad would have said yes.”
On the day of the wedding the forecast was for solid rain but as luck would have it, just in time for the ceremony, the clouds parted and for the rest of the day it was gloriously sunny! We snuck away for a first look on Dartmoor which gave us time for some intimate photographs and dramatic scenes before the wedding commenced.
This wedding weekend stretched from Friday through to Sunday which meant that family members who had flown in from as far afield as Australia, had a proper chance to catch up and get to know new friends. Ian and Becky reminisced that it was nice to have everyone together the night before the wedding as it meant people were able to get to know each other and it helped create a relaxed and friendly atmosphere on the big day.
To the fabulous Mr & Mrs H: Thank you so much for letting me be a part of your gorgeous day and for your brilliant sense of fun and adventure! It has been such a blessing to get to know you both and to witness the joining of two such beautiful souls. I wish you every happiness in your future together.
